Altea is located on a hill from which stands the bell tower of the parish church, dedicated to the Virgin of Consuelo. This construction has two domes in blue and white tiles. The square of this church offers views of the entire region. Paved alleyways, stepped streets littered with watchtowers, roundabouts and white houses, once surrounded by solid ramparts, are structured around the church. Altea is full of artists' studios and craft stores. In the lower part, are the shopping street of King Jaime I, the fishing district and the port, but also the waterfront and six kilometers of coast formed by beaches, coves and cliffs.
