The Vall de la Gallinera consists of 8 small villages called Benirrama, Benialí, Benisivá, Benitaia, La Carroja, Alpatró, Llombai and Benisili. The capital of the valley is Benialí. These are villages arranged in line along the valley formed by the course of the Rambla de Gallinera surrounded by the Sierras de Les Solanes, the Almirante and the Sierra Foradá which communicates with the Vall d Alcalá. They are all agricultural villages producing almonds, oil or cherries in the appellation of origin area from which they are located.
Benisivá (Benissivà in Castilian) is a small village of 73 inhabitants in 2014 and has two streets, Olmos Canelsa and Raval. There is the church dedicated to Saint Michel-Ange, bars, the cooperative of the Vall de Gallinera, probably the best place to buy typical products such as oranges, olives, almonds... although the flagship product is undoubtedly the cherry. In March, the cherry blossoms stain the slopes of the Vall de Gallinera with white, in a natural spectacle of great beauty. This area is also ideal for walkers and hikers.
